We Have To Go Back, Kate!

I'm sure most of you have seen this but.......

Yeah, I've watched it a few times and I fall in love with Hurley everytime.

Patti Can Bring It!

I watched The Clash of the Choirs last night. Now, your nerdy writer, has been looking forward to this show for awhile. I love me some good choir movement, harmony and star singers. You know that as I watched I imagined that at my church.....shhhh, that should probably be a secret.

I tried to find some video of the actual performances last night but apparently there hasn't been any posted yet on YouTube. Of course, Patti LaBelle's choir (from Philadelphia) blew the others out of the water! They sang in true Gospel Choir style - it gave me chill bumps. Blake Shelton's choir (Oklahoma City) actually brought some harmony and 2 Army guys in uniform. It was pretty inspiring.

Worse, by far, Micheal Bolton's choir from New Haven, Conn. I mean, come on, do they have any soul in New Haven?

Watch it tonight. It was long but the music was wonderful - I can't wait to see it again.

Sew It Up!

Tonight begins a new season of Project Runway and I will so be there at 10:00. I always enjoy seeing what the designers will create and what Michael Kors will say. I know, I know, these people are putting on for TV but I like it anyway.

In a related story, I read that the networks may use more programming from their cable shows to fill in because of the writer's strike. For the record: I don't think that Project Runway with it's constant cussing (yall, don't cuss!) is appropriate for regular TV. This may be splitting hairs, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time until every other word is beeped, but let's try to keep it clean(ish) as long as possible.

I Love New York 2

I. Can't. Look. Away. When will someone throw a punch? Why would anyone keep a girly-man like Tailor Made? When will New York's new chest finally fall out?

One Down.

Well, yall know I love me some Jimmy Smits. He so good to look at. OOOOO. But, unfortunately, for Hunko Jimmy, I discovered last night that his new show, Cane, comes on opposite Boston Legal. Boston Legal has been on awhile and may be getting a little long in the tooth but it still made Jim and I both laugh. We still love Alan Shore and Denny Crane.

So - goodbye, Cane. We tried you twice and you didn't do it for us - especially over Denny Crane.

I Love Geek TV

If being geeky means I love the new show Chuck, get me a pocket protector. If being geeky means that I can't miss Heroes, then I need some black glasses. If being geeky means that I watch old Star Trek episodes whenever they are on, then I need my own tricorder (I already have a Star Trek uniform but it's blue so maybe I need a medical tricorder.)

Okay, so let's just say it - I'm a little geeky. Chuck is one of my favorite new shows. It's funny and there are people kicking butt - perfection. It's also produced by McG - the guy that brought us the Mission Impossible movies. That means the special effects are really good. It also comes on right before Heroes and that show is still terrific! OOOOO, it's good.

Just so you know that my Monday nights are sitting with NBC - I'm into Journeyman, too. It's a time travel show. I know what you're thinking, "Not again!" But since I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife, I'm kinda lost in that weird place. Journeyman has alot of similarities to the book, too. So far I've spent the shows comparing them to the book. But the topic is simply fascinating - I won't go there.

I have seen a few other shows that I will tape (no, I don't have TiVo) if I have to. I'll write about them later. Watch Monday on NBC and get geeky, too.

More New Shows

Let's finish up that Hot List from TV Guide:

K-Ville - Cop show that's set in New Orleans. It's also shot in N'Awlins. (Which way do you say it?) I like that. It's trying to give back to NO and let the world see what it looks like now. But it's still a cop show. One white cop, one black cop. In plain clothes. It may take more than N'Awlins to get me to watch.

Gossip Girl - You have got to be kidding me. High-schoolers with too much money. Won't watch. Not interested.

Reaper - This goes against my basic thought - the Grim Reaper can't be funny. This looks funny. Poor 21 year old, Sam, had his soul sold to the Devil before birth and now he has a new boss. Satan needs someone to find his escapees. I know, that doesn't sound like the Bible. It's on the CW -that usually means I really have to want to watch it (Gilmore Girls.)

Cane - Jimmy Smits. I'll watch. I love to look at him (sorry, Honey) and it's a Latin soundtrack. What's not to watch? A large Cuban family with lots of money and all their problems. Soap opera, you say? Jimmy Smits, I say.

Bionic Woman - Of course, I watched Jamie Sommers as a girl! I still remember her pushing her hair back to hear better (Totally illogical.) I would watch just because of that. Yall know how much I love Battlestar Galactica - same producer. I hope it'll be okay for my kids cause it's the Bionic Woman!

That's what TV Guide says are the hottest shows. There were a few more that I want to see and I'll be writing more about them later. But, let's face it, there are just so many hours in a day and no one is paying me to watch TV.

Fall Shows

It's that time again. Time for me to buy a TV Guide and see what they think I should watch. This year's Hot List was in the Guide for last week and I'd like to offer my opinions.

Pushing Daisies - I've seen the ads for this show and I love the look of it. It has a beautiful, otherworldly sense. Just what this nerdy girl likes. Story of a man who can resurrect the dead with his touch - and then touch again to make dead again. I don't think there are supposed to be spiritual overtones. I would watch this if only to see Kristin Chenoweth - she is a wonder. Her voice and face are worth a stop. She's even a Believer.
Back To You - Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton as small-town news anchors with a past. Looks like a good-ole-fashioned sitcom. Maybe the two of them can step it up a notch above same, same.
Dirty Sexy Money - Yet another soap opera. Now, soap operas aren't bad just they always seem so nasty. Story of a incredibly rich family and the lawyer who inherits their pain. I probably won't bother. Not very family-friendly.
Chuck - Ahhhh, another show for nerds! TV Guide reported that it got a standing ovation at Comic-Con (THE Nerd Convention.)Looks funny, too. Normal guy that turns unwitting into a spy. My favorite - Spys, laughs, cute nerd - I'll watch this one.
Private Practice - Now, IF, and, only IF, I were to watch a nasty soap opera, this would be the one. I did (accidentally) watch the mini-pilot that came on that night on Grey's Anatomy. It's a Grey's spin-off - nuff said.
That's TV Guide's Top Five - I'll finish the list when I get a chance.

This Woman Needs Some Junk Food

I haven't written about one of mine and Jim's favorite summer shows - The Closer. Kyra Sedgwick is fantastic as Chief Brenda Johnson (just nominated for an Emmy) and the writing is so funny. She can flat act like she's from the South and then turn around and be the boss! Southerners know that a Southern woman in "boss" position is a delicate balance. That I am frankly surprised some Californian or Yankee can write. The cast of characters on Brenda's staff is worth watching, too - we always get a kick out of Det. Prevencia.

Watch this one if you can - Monday night on TNT at 8:00. We tape and watch later because the subject matter is sometimes too much for the kids.

I looked up the title of the book from the Other's Book Club - Carrie by Stephen King.

Burn Notice

Last night Jim and I watched Burn Notice on USA Network - it was pretty good. We like a little humor in our bad guy/good guy spies. At the end, Jim turned to me and said, "We'll have to watch that again." Understand that Jim enjoys watching TV as much as I do, but he would just as happy watching History Channel as anything else.

I have found that USA has some of my favorite summer shows (Monk, The 4400, The Dead Zone,) and now we'll be adding Burn Notice.

HBO on Vacation

Yes, yes - I've been watching TV. I've even turned it off during the day a few times. I've declared that we won't have TV at some point during the day. I've become a rather unpopular mom - them's the breaks.

While we were on vacation, we had access to HBO. No, it wasn't dirty shows the whole time. We did see Big Love more than once. The show is about a family of polygamists who don't live on a compound but in a regular suburb in Utah (given.) I admit to being a teeny bit fascinated with Mormonism so I couldn't wait to watch this show. I don't think I had seen it before but I'm hoping that I get to see it again. Just the idea that life could be any kind of normal while living a HUGE secret compels me.

Maybe when it's on DVD I can see it again.
In case you're wondering, we won't have HBO. We did have HBO when we first got married (I saw original Sopranos and Sex in the City) but I would hate for my kids to just flip over to alot of what they show.

Who Doesn't Love A Fireman?

I'm almost afraid to write about this one - Rescue Me. It's edgy, urban, very New York, okay, it's bad, yall. I have loved it since it started! Denis Leary writes (or produces?) and plays the lead character, Tommy Gavin. A fireman in NY who wasn't killed on 9/11 but knew most of the firemen who were - including his cousin. He's a tortured soul who struggles with his own alcoholism, his family's alcoholism, and his belief in Jesus. I'll never forget Jesus on the show with him or when Mary Magdalene came by looking for her "husband, common law" (if you didn't think that was a little funny, don't watch.) His family is falling apart around him and his buddies at the station don't help alot. They all have their own problems - a wife with early-onset Alzheimer's, a drunk wife, a player who can't settle down, a gay (or maybe not) fireman, etc.

I'm one step away from deleting this. Recommend it? Yes. Scared you're going to ask for me to come forward for prayer. Yes.

Family Viewing

My family has joined the legions of Deadliest Catch fans. This show comes on - I don't know when but it seems like alot. There's even a spin-off, After The Catch. My hubby was watching it a few days ago.
I gotta tell ya - it ain't my favorite. It isn't even my favorite reality show (Project Runway or Top Chef, maybe?) but it has it's moments. I usually watch it wishing I could eat a few of the crabs. That's what they do on Deadliest Catch, fish. Mostly for Alaskan King Crab but also for some smaller crab when King Crab season is over. It seems like a bunch of guys working and doing stupid guy stuff when they aren't working.

This show is on the Discovery network - it has one of their other favorites, Mythbusters. Both my kids (and Jim) love to watch this one. They have lots of science - Kenny loves it!

Still Writing....

I was afraid I wouldn't have anything to write about for awhile. All my network favorites have had their finales and a couple won't even come back until after Christmas! But leave it to Rosie O'Donnell to not leave me hangin'

I don't watch The View very much. I would occasionally flip over to see what they had to say about American Idol or some other pop culture phenomenon but for the most part they are what women don't want to be. Loud, screechy, biased, (dare I say) b*tchy.... I do like Elizabeth - she's the voice of reason on that show. You know, I wish Meridith Veira was still there instead of on the Today show (exactly what was wrong with Ann Curry, I ask you.) Then I wouldn't have to watch her struggle with how much to say about her family, how caustic to be, and try to figure out how to talk to Matt. Enough about Meredith - that's done.

Rosie got her feeling hurt by Elizabeth and then she quit the show. What?! This is the lesson I want to teach my daughter - go head-to-head with your co-worker and when things don't go your way, leave. That's the way most people do it, isn't it? Or do we work together and try to make our workplace something to be proud of. I understand that this show thrives on its arguments but Rosie is really setting a poor example - for her children if nobody else. I remember the days when she was funny - not anymore.

Not Penny's Boat

I watched Lost on Wednesday night - on tape so I wouldn't miss anything. I will watch it again and again and, probably, again.

I don't know where to start. I did have some inkling that the show was moving into the future - the producers had hinted at it. But Jack's dad is dead. He was in a coffin. On the plane. in the hold. Going back to the states to be buried. So why did Jack refer to him in the flash-forward? That really confused me.

Charlie's dead?! I know people don't stay very dead on the island (maybe that just applies to Locke) but the actor's gone, yall. I did read on E! online that the producers didn't feel they could keep him alive - it would cheat the viewers. I certainly was willing to suspend belief that he could live - couldn't you? I pretty sure if you're watching Lost - you're suspending belief on alot stuff.

I loved that Ben wasn't trusted. When you lie all the time, Ben, people don't believe you when you finally tell the truth. So who was on the boat? Maybe just a random boat? Then why did Naomi have Desmond's picture? Speaking of - why didn't Desmond question her more about why she had his picture? The girl was walking - Sayid could have gotten the truth out of her.
I'm so happy, happy, happy that Sayid's not dead. I love his voice, character and he looks good, too

Locke's alive. Kate's married to who? in the future. Somebody (a man) is dead in the future. Alex found her mother. Sun is going to die, maybe. More and more questions. We have to wait until next February for some answers. Poo!

I love me some time travel and I'm starting to believe that's what this show is about. Check out what Shannon wrote and be sure to read the comments......

American Idol Finale

This will be quick - Jordan. Jordan is clearly the better singer. Who can question that? I know that 11-year-old girls think Blake is cute but, girls, he ain't that great.

Jordan blew the American Idol single out of the water! If she doesn't win, I will quit watching (again.)

I can't end without saying that at least Paula had a reason to be on drugs last night.....

An Extra

Two things:

I watched the Lost producers, Carolton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, talk about Lost last night. Yall, I love that show! I wanna watch it all again! The biggest thing I remember that they said was that the black smoke was flashing at Juliet. Like it was taking a picture! What does that mean? Is Juliet going to be taken by the smoke? Is Jacob the smoke? They also showed pictures of Walt and Michael (remember them?) - are they coming back? My favorite thing the producers said was that if they were all rescued the show would be over. That's what Jim and I say whenever they started walking to the radio tower. But wait, they also said that the story takes place in 3 places - present time, past time, and the future. So, they could rescue them and then follow their futures. This is making my head hurt. I'm simply Lost.

Melinda Doolittle gets kicked off American Idol?! That makes sense - take the most talented person and get rid of them. Keep the teenager and the boy who makes noise with his mouth. This just proves, once again, that this show is for kids. It's all about who is the most popular - just like high school. Yuck! I had enough of that when I was 17!

Funny.....

So, You're First Plane Crash?

you know I had to watch last night's Lost episode again. I watched it on ABC.com and I have to tell you that the picture was wonderful! I was really impressed with the quality of the site. You can see lots of their shows over there including Dancing with The Stars or Grey's Anatomy.

I don't know what to say about the show - it was so good. I'm glad Jack has finally gotten a backbone! It's about time he told someone he wasn't gonna take it anymore! Blow up those crazy Ben-ites - sounds like a good idea to me. Those "Hostiles" are following Ben a little too much and questioning him too little. It appears that Alex and Richard (eye-liner man,) at least, are not blindingly following Ben but the guys with the guns are following him. And Ben is using Jacob (or any lie he feels like telling) to keep the Others in line. (Wasn't that dead rabbit gross?)

Does Charlie die? That is the question. I think not - out in Internetland the producers have said they won't kill Charlie. You know that when Desmond offered to take his place I was thinking that I would lose that great accent (along with Dr. Beckett on Stargate Atlantis.) I didn love seeing little Aaron's hands on Charlie's face - he could easily be a good daddy. I'm wondering if those women in the Looking Glass Station are the girls from Ben's youth? Maybe that blond was the little girl that liked Ben (ewwww?)

Who knew that Barnard was a sharpshooter? I loved Rose's line to Jack "I like you better since you got back, Jack. You're almost an optimist."

And, just in case you were wondering, yes I cried. It seems all these ending are setting me up to go looking for the Kleenex. I'm sure I'll cry next week, too, I'll be crying cause I have to wait forever for more Lost!

Check out Shannon for more Lost chat.....

It's Too Soon

Well, it's over. I watched the last episode today and I was crying toward the bittersweet end. Is it too soon? Could it have gone on? I suppose but it was a good place to end - Rory with a real job and Lorilei finally getting together with Luke. No weddings. I'm not sure either Luke or Lorilei are ready for that but just seeing them together - I'm veklept.

Good last show. Good end for all the relationships including the one between Lorilei and her mom. I had trouble choosing a tag line for the title because (of course, it's the Gilmore Girls) there were too many. Enjoy.

"I'm sure she's freaking out on the inside." Lane about Lorilei

"You've come a long way, baby." Rory to Lane

"You've given me everything I need." Rory to Lorilei

"I got the material from one of Mom's nighties." Kirk (who else)

"I just like to see you happy." Luke to Lorilei (Isn't that true love?)

"Do they make flasks for hot beverages?" Lorilei to Rory "Yeah, they call them a thermos." Rory's response. Last time in the diner......

W-O-MAN

American Idol Re-cap:

Jordan - She's such a cutie. She sings really well, too. I like that she uses those old songs (did she say "Grosse Point?") - they deserve some recognition with the youngsters out there. I had goose bumps on that last song (the old one.)

Blake - He's very cute, too. I realize that his clothing choices are somewhat limited but how many times can he wear the same style? I've grown weary of them. Oh, he thinks Jim Carey should play him in a movie? As what, a grandpa? Maybe 25 years ago but Jim a little long in the tooth now, Blake. Musically he sang one of my favorites, It's Love by Maroon 5. He did a good job on it, too. Roxanne did sound like a bad cover of Sting though. Whatever that last song was was good, too. Those last two sounded like his vibe - his spot, you know.

Melinda - What can I say? She should already be making music. She is the best of the three. She can rock any song and I'm with Randy - she needs to throw some Tina Turner-ish stuff into her repertoire. That girl works hard for her money!

The Judges - They get the treatment tonight, too. Firstly, please replace Paula. She is getting weirder all the time. Tonight when she laughed - her plastic surgery was a little too obvious. She seems so ..... ewwww. Secondly, we get that Randy has produced some big names - no need to drop one all the time. I like that he choose Whitney for Melinda - Melinda was on it! Lastly, Simon. He seems to put the youth thing in front of the voice. He mentions the age (of a song or person) alot. I really was shocked that he wanted Melinda in the final two - I believed that he wanted the younger ones. Who buys CDs or downloads?

Final Two: Melinda and Jordan It needs to be between these two - they have the talent.

Didn't I Throw You Out A Window Once?

I know yall aren't watching Heroes. I know you're afraid to start now because it's almost over. You've told me that you would be lost because you didn't see it from the beginning. I have heard you and I'm telling you - that is the best show! Better than 24, which comes on at the same time? Well, I can predict that Jack won't die and he will save the world. I'm still hoping all my heroes won't die and that they can save the world.

But how??!!

This show has the baddest man on TV (Sylar) and the most conficted heroes. It is like a comic book and I can't help but love it. If you watch it, I hope Peter doesn't die! Please, please kill Sylar! Let Parkman wake up and save Molly. Do not have Claire's dad kill her! Will Linderman heal himself? It would seem that someone sticking his hand into your brain would positively kill you, right? Right?

If you've read this far and are interested, SciFi channel will have all the Heroes episodes on back-to-back on Saturday and I'm sure the re-runs will be on during the summer. I've written before that it's a little gory but both my kids watch it. (hey, we quit My Name is Earl - cut me some slack)

Did I steer you wrong about 24?

Help Me.

I'm going to write about Lost. I've been vegging out (whenever I have the time) but it hasn't been at the computer - it's been in front of the TV.

Oh. My. Stars. Lost is crazy! Ben is crazy. The Others are crazy. And Kate is crazy (again and again she trusts Jack - isn't this what women do who with men who continue to prove themselves untrustworthy? But that's another sermon.) I seriously think Ben may be crazy - too long on the island without things changing. You know, that guy with the eye-liner doesn't look a day older - he has just cut his hair.

I can only say that people on the island don't always stay dead very well. Locke isn't dead, yall. He just quit breathing temporarily. Cause I know he'll start again - and he's coming after Ben! There seems to be some speculation out there in Internetland that Jacob and Locke are brothers and Jacob wants Locke to help him get out of Ben's grip.

This I love: Jacob and Locke as separated twins - like Jacob and Esau. I don't know if the writers fully understand everywhere they can go with the Jacob and Esau story. Feuding families. Feuding countries. Sold birthright. Favoritism by the mom and/or dad. The Old Testament is full of great soap opera.

Well, I can't wait until next week to see who dies - temporarily.

Edited to add: I didn't link Shannon earlier because I was in such a hurry but check it out. Those are some good comments...

From Abbie

I like Hannah Montana cause it's funny and and Hannah has a double life. She's a regular girl and she's a rock star. And she has a giant closet with a button you push and it makes it spin around.

Abbie loves this show and wanted it to be featured on my blog....

Have You Ever Been To Jasper, Alabama?

Sawyer's from Jasper, Alabama?! Did he live out towards Saragossa like all my kin? Did he go to Red Mill School (elementary) like my mom? Or West Jasper Elementary where Papa Crawford (my grandpa) worked as a janitor? Or maybe he went to TR Simmons, where I taught?!

I couldn't pass that up. Sawyer's from my neck of the woods. Who knew? FYI: Sawyer is totally from West Jasper - more "wrong side of the tracks" over there. That being said my daddy is from West Jasper and he turned out pretty good.

I've got two links for you. The first is Shannon's blog. Her readers always have good comments - the stuff I've missed or more just insightful. The next one is from Shannon's blog, too. It's to a rumour site that lists 3 characters that will die, supposedly. Rumors, all rumors.

What Will Happen To Paris?

Sarah has noted that Gilmore Girls is ending it's run. No more Lorilei or Rory. Except on DVD which I know several of yall have/watch. I read Lauren Graham said that she hoped it wouldn't end with a wedding.

Ahhh, weddings are wonderful, Lauren. Maybe Rory can get married? What about Kirk and Lulu? It would be more logical that Rory would move away to write on some big paper as a stepping stone to the New York Times.

Last show May 15 - I'll be watching.

It Sure Is Hot Enough

Wow. Lost. I love that Locke's dad was the con man who destroyed Sawyer's (James's) family. Where is this place?! Locke's dad said it was hell - is it hell? I enjoy it when the story crosses over itself like that. But surely it isn't all coincidence - there must be something afoot there (of course).

What about Rousseau? Why was she getting the dynamite? Who/What is she planning on blowing up? Yikes.

My other favorite scene of the episode was when Kate had to tattle to Jack about Naomi. What is wrong with that girl? Is Jack her daddy, or something. He isn't the principal, Kate. You can keep secrets from him because he's keeping one from you. With his new girlfriend. Who seems much cooler than you right now. But I guess we have to excuse Kate, she's got to be pregnant. That super-sperm (there it was again, eww) did it's job, I'm sure.

Log in if you wish - I can't wait until next week.

Have A Nice Day

American Idol Chat: Honestly, I missed the first two performers. I came in when the judges were blasting my girl, Jordan. Was she really that bad? I thought her hair was crazy and fun and it cracks me up how much she towers over Ryan! Makes me laugh every time.

Blake - What?! Was that rock and roll? Or was that some guy sounding like a record? Do the 11-year-olds know what a record is? Did mama have to tell them that was something from "back in the day?" I am agreeing with Simon - 1/2 would love it and 1/2 would hate it. Hated it. Or maybe I just didn't get it.

LaKisha - She was rocking! I loved her singing "This Ain't a Love Song!" I thought she was great. What up with the outfit? Ok.

Melinda - For somebody who thinks that they can't sing rock-n-roll - she was kicking it! She portrayed tough and edgy - a Pat Benetar - and portrayed it well. She's great and her voice is really incredible.

I have to mention that two of my co-workers that love American Idol and watch it every year are crazy about Blake. One of them asked me if I would buy Melinda's CD. I have to say that I haven't bought any AI CD's. Obviously, I'm not their target audience. I do love Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Carrie Underwood but, never bought anything of theirs. I did buy the DreamGirls CD and I've played it to death - Jennifer Hudson has the most wonderful voice. But I do love me a Broadway musical.

You're Cursed, Jack

Well, it's Wednesday and I have a little time at the computer - So away we go!

Wasn't 24 fantastic? Poor Jack - can they do anything else to him? His wife was killed, he's estranged from his daughter, he was hooked on heroin, tortured in a Chinese prison, and now the love of his life is catatonic and her daddy is kicking Jack out! Is Jack cursed? Do the worst things happen to Jack? How will he ever find happiness? (Isn't that the ultimate goal of everything we watch or read?) I'm hoping that whenever the show is going off the air, Jack finds some level of contentment. A life that is worth living. How about Jesus?

For now, he just has to make it though 6 more hours. Jim and I got a kick out of Daniel (Michael Shanks) from Stargate SG-1 playing a bad guy! He was sleeping with the acting-president's chief aide and "bed buddy." Jim quipped (can you use quip in a sentence?) "Now we can get the Stargate fully funded." I laughed and laughed. That's why I married that guy - he's funny.

Cool Blogs

I was surfing around the other day and found the TV Guide website. It has some blogs on the home page. These are mainly show recaps so if you miss an episode you can read about it. Not as good - but sometimes life is too short to watch online. Or on ITunes.

It's kinda sad that I've missed the last few Gilmore Girls. The writing on this show is (generally) wonderful and it's worth it to laugh at the pop culture references. But the story has gotten out of control lately (with Chris, without Chris, without Luke, with Logan, etc.) and it just isn't as good as it used to be. These may be the final episodes - we may have to buy the DVD.

Sci-Fi Friday

I watched my Stargates on Friday night. You can't beat SG-1 for a good story. I loved that it showed Cameron in a wheelchair and that he, too, had stood up for his principles. Does this mean that in an alternate universe we are basically the same people? If you're thinking enough, that is a nature vs. nurture argument waiting to happen.

Daniel becomes Ori!!?? Come on. I'm guessing Daniel will ascend, but Ori? No.

Insider info: Ok, maybe not insider but I did read something interesting. Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter) will be on Atlantis next year. She's taking Weir's spot! What? And did you know that Dr Beckett (Atlantis) will be killed off in the next couple of weeks?! What's up with the turn-over? Weir may be done but Beckett? I like him and his cute accent. (It must be something about those Scottish accents.) One more - How long before Ronan and Teyla hook-up. I'm okay with my Sci-Fi being s*x free, but those two sure are exchanging significant glances.

Oops.

I watched Lost again today. When I was at school today, one of the other teachers asked me about the end and, unbelievably, I had forgotten it. How does that happen? It was late last night is the only excuse I have.

Sun - I think we saw last night that Sun is her father's daughter. Whew! Don't mess with that girl - she will cut you! Or have you cut, dadgum it! I was so happy for her when she found out that the baby was Jin's - I was so sad for her that she's going to die. Really? Sun's going to die?! Is she going to come back like Eye-Patch? Dead doesn't really seem dead on this island. While we are talking babies - doesn't it have to the daddy's fault? (Not that assigning blame is important, mind you) If whatever happens at conception and the sperm count is super-increased on the island, then aren't the sperm faulty. Maybe some sort of "barrier" method should be used to keep the women alive?

May I never have to write "sperm" on any blog again.

Patch - Did Locke know he wasn't really dead? How was he not dead? Like the survivors of Flight 851 aren't dead? I'm with Charlie - let's put out his Other eye. Obviously he was lying about what the Parachute Girl had said. Bad, bad.

Juliet - My girl hates her. Called her evil. How far would you go to get off the island? How far has Jack gone? Has he gone to the Other side? Sun isn't sure he can be trusted - are we? It seems that Juliet is making a deal with the devil (Ben) and now she hates herself, him and her deal.

Jin - You go, Jin with your tae kwon do! Army training, yall? Or just daddy-in-law's enforcer? I'd want him on my side. You would think between him and Sayid there wouldn't be any secrets.

My girl told me that 5 people would die on the island in May. She had read it in TV Guide and, you realize that there's only 3 more until after next Christmas. I gotta get me some previous seasons.....

Edited to add: This link is crazy! I can't explain this person's theory, just read it. Check out Shannon's too. Read the comments everyone has something to say.

American Idol Rehashed

Well, last night we watched only the last 30 minutes of American Idol and, it's just not the same without someone to laugh at. I did get to see Jordan and that girl can flat sing! I missed Melinda (it MUST come down to those two!) but saw the re-cap at the end. Those boys aren't as good - looks like a girl winner this year! That's my prediction but it isn't that surprising.

Funny thing: I bought Happy Meals at Micky D's this week and they are AI meals! My kids were thrilled to get little echo mikes that had American Idol on them. Kenny was all about reading the facts on the side of the box. Okay, I was interested, too. Did you know that the contestants get help on their styling but not their song choices? It seems a hue thing to leave in a young 'un's hands, Dawg. I guess that's why they always make such a deal out of the song choice.

Only .07% Of The Population

I can't say enough about Heroes. That show is wonderful! I read on someone else's blog that compared it to another serial (I assumed Lost) - they liked how things happened in the show. Not just plugging along and then some mystery is answered in the last 5 minutes. LOL! That is so Lost, isn't it? And yet we watch and write about it. Just like Mama Crawford and her stories.

I didn't want Issac to die but by passing on his work to the messenger, did he past on some important info? Like how to kill Sklyer, maybe? Jim and I both think that Peter won't be the person to blow up New York City but instead it will be the radioactive guy. Monday night Parkman talked to him about killing himself. I think that he may be the one to do it. IF it happens...... This show is dealing with future events and free will in every episode - who knows what will happen? Isn't that the point?

I wanted to tell yall that both my kids watched the show. Kenny was in the bath at the most violent part (we didn't have to see Skyler kill the guy) and Abbie turned away. She hid her face in Jim's shoulder and told me not to watch either. I watched.

Can't wait until next week - a preview of what life will be like in 5 years. Or will someone use their free will to change the future?

Daniel, Oh Daniel

Well, it's Monday again and I haven't written about my TV viewing! What is up with that?! Maybe I haven't watched any TV? Right.

Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis were good. Jim and I got to see them last night on our old-fashioned VCR. Yep, we still tape. No DVR at our house. That's another blog. We feel like we missed something with Daniel. Did they even notice he was gone? They only mentioned him once - why were they not going after him? When did they get that device? I saw Daniel thinking it - when did it become a "device?" Did we miss something? Anyone? Megan?

Tonight begins the end for the Heroes. LOVE THIS SHOW! Kenny had been watching it but I'm afraid it's going to get too violent. That Skyler is one BAD dude! He is truly evil. (Of course, that begs the question - Isn't that what makes a good bad guy?) And exactly how bad is Linderman? Is Peter really dead? OOOOOO - I can't wait.

Also, at the same time on my VCR, is 24. There aren't enough good things to say. There aren't enough words to laud Jack Bauer. He's going after his love that went after him. Nuff said.

In One Of Your Puzzle Flashes.

I have to admit - I wasn't sure that Desmond wouldn't let Charlie die until the last moment. I thought, maybe. Desmond really wants to be with Penny again and who can blame him? But I'm really glad he didn't let Charlie die. I told Jim that I don't want Charlie off the show. He has more to say, more room to grow, redemption, dad gum it!

Aside: Aren't the names Desmond and Penelope great? Don't they seem so English?

I love the interaction with Hurley and anybody. Hurley is my favorite character on the show and I want him to be well. Maybe the island heals mental illnesses, too. I tried to imagine how much these people have to say to each other now. We are assuming that they are still hiding parts of their lives - the idea of sitting around a campfire with your buds. That sounds like a reason to open up their lives and talk about your past failures. Your need for redemption.

Ah, Sawyer. He's hot and funny. Who could want anything else?

Link for Shannon's blog - She always gets more out of it than I do. Her readers do, too.

Bless Him!

FINALLY! SANJAYA IS GONE! The madness is over. The train wreck has been cleared. The question now becomes: Why watch American Idol? There's talk out there in blogland that Melinda is too old. Maybe I'm not qualified to make observations like that. (Just like your grannie, she looks young to me.)

I wanted a video of him crying (to mock, OK!!) but nothing was on YouTube yet. I heard he cried when he got kicked off - oh, he's so young. So enjoy this from SNL.

It's Like A Car Wreck - You Can't Look Away

Here's what I think: Sanjaya is on American Idol so more people will watch. My family had quit watching in the past few years but now I have to see/hear how bad he is. I'm staying to see Melinda and Jordon - those two should be the final two. Melinda gives me chill bumps! She sings like someone who already has a recording contract!

My hubby said Sajaya's attempt at singing was bad karaoke before Randy did - so you know it much be true.

It's Hard To Think With Two Sets Of Memories

Well, well. I just finished reading Shannon's Lost post. Yall, I love this show be apparently I have no original thoughts associated with it. There are lots of people out there who are thinking of it much more than I. Here's a site that Shannon linked that has some weird stuff on it, too. Including info from the producer, Carlton Cuse.

Jim commented, after I read to him from the site, that "some people are spending way too much time on this." It made me think - wouldn't it be cool if something you wrote made everybody think and talk about it. That's cooler than, say, American Idol.

Jim and I watched Stargate SG-1 last night. I (have to say again) love that show. Those are some BAD guys -those Ori - and their prophet, the Orisi, is just evil! What's cooler than Merlin coming to life and putting his memories into Daniel?! Wow! That Daniel gets hotter every season. He's gotten so much cooler as this show has progressed. Remember when this was all about finding Shar'ra? I fear he may have to ascend again at the end of the series - he will not go quietly into academia. Blessings on your journey, Dr Jackson. (Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.)

Offworld Activation

Tonight at 6:00 will begin again the Stargate stories. I love the Stargate stories and I'm happy that I know at least 3 other women who love it, too. One friend actually is planning to have on her jammies and be ready to watch from the beginning. At 6:00. Don't call her.

Tonight will be the beginning of the end for Stargate SG-1 - there are only 10 episodes left. One friend said she knew it was time but she hated to see our friends go. That's how I feel, too. It's time but still.....

If you're interested in all things Stargate SG-1 or Stargate Atlantis, check out this site.

Where This Is Going

I'm sure you all noticed that Sanjaya didn't get in the bottom of the pack again. To h*ll in a handbasket.

See You In A Week

Yeah, Jack, you saw in Juliet's eyes that she would do anything to get off that island! And now that means spying on yall for who knows what reason?!

If all the pregnant women die, what about Rousoux? Why didn't she die? How did Ben get Alex anyway? But I digress.

This week we are finally let in on the little secret of Juliet. She's dirty, yall. I wonder if she's worried that the Losties will kill her, too, just like they did her boyfriend. And her colleague. I feel so bad for Juliet, really, she wants to go home, too. But she needs to get away from the Devil and join up with the good guys. Cause right now the Devil is still the Devil and he hasn't been very cooperative so far.

Poor Jack. He sure can pick em.

Say Hello To Your Brother For Me

*Spoiler Alert*
Oh My Stars!! If you didn't watch 24 last night and don't want any details, stop now! Because I just can't wait!! Can you believe?
Firstly, that President Palmer totally threw me off. I couldn't believe that he would nuke any one. Since he hadn't already and the country had been threatened even before the "day" started - I had no idea he would think of bombing anyone. I was sure he had lost his mind. I'm pretty sure even Jim was surprised and he usually knows what's coming. Now when is he going to bed? And will the vice-pres take over?
Okay. The ending. I had assumed that someone would take Marwan's place. There would be another bad guy. Jack would whoop his tail, too. In fact, last night, I thought those bad guys would take Marwan to the nukes and off we'd go.... So imagine my surprise. I had assumed that Jack would be in China next year searching for Audrey. I had envisioned how different it would be for Jack to not have CTU to rely on.
Little did I know. Now that Jack has killed all the bad Middle Eastern men - he has to start on the bad Chinese men. You know that there all lots more Chinese people (over 1 billion) than Arabs. Watch out you bad guys! Jack is back.
Editted to add: The bad guy wasn't Marwan - that's the one I watch during the day (Day 5, maybe.) The bad guy was Fied (can't spell Arabic names.) Now, of course, he'll have a Chinese name.

You don't want to know where I've been, Brother.

No, Not Jack!

Whoa! I just saw a teaser for tomorrow night's 24. Jack is shot??!! The one thing you can count on in this show is that Keifer is the star and they won't kill him. I usually console myself with this knowledge.

Don't kill Jack! I will stop watching. There I said it.

He's The Way, The Truth, and The Light

Do you remember when we watched shows about Jesus on Easter? It was The 10 Commandments on Saturday and Jesus of Nazareth on Sunday night - not any more. We still get the 10 Commandments on Saturday but no Jesus anymore.

Is this any other way the media is getting rid of Jesus? We can still be "spiritual" but not mention Him? It's sad for our kids - I loved those Jesus movies. I still remember that Jesus from the Jesus of Nazarth movie. He didn't look as good as the more recent ones - why are they not on?

I know this is a little "deeper" than usual - maybe we just need to get a copy. And watch it with our children.

That's Just Crazy

I love yall's comments! I'm still hooked on all things TV. It's a sad but true confession.

American Idol: I gotta say I'm watching it to see that Sanjaya guy sings as bad as everyone says. And, yes, he does. That's like if I got up there. I know I'm good enough to be on mike but not good enough to get a recording contract. Or to make it to the Top 10 on American Idol. I did see Melinda sing on Tuesday and she was great! She sounds like a professional - not like a wanna be. It's funny to me all the big stars that "mentor" the AI singers. Tony Bennet and next week it's Jennifer Lopez. Jenny From the Block, yall!

So Sanjaya - Bless him! Here's my question - Does he still think he can sing?
Aside: Abbie just saw his picture and said, "Oh, that's the boy I like singing." He has the 4-year-old vote.....

Lost Crazy

So, Lost last night. Wow! Jim said that that was the classic way to get a mole into an enemy camp. Is Juliet a mole? No clue. I'm being to think so - these Others don't do anything without a reason.

Why don't the Losties just move into the Other's abandoned compound? Beds, water, eletricity, there's even a fence to keep out the scary black smoke. I'm sure that's too easy but it makes sense to me.

And didn't you love Hurley getting Sawyer to do some work? It made me laugh. Sawyer needs to be "gotten" or conned, if you will, some more.

Lastly, was Sawyer the guy who conned that girl who helped Kate? She told us she was pregnant - Sawyer as a daddy.

What ya think?

Eddited to add: Check out Shannon's post...

My Stories

My grandmother used to watch her "stories." She was very loyal to sit everyday and see the same people come into her living room. She liked their "stories." I have "stories," too. I just watch them at night and call them "shows" or "programs."

I've been thinking of beginning another blog devoted to my "shows." The TV I can't stop watching and have something to say about it. I won't be regular and I may not watch what you watch. But come back if you have a favorite that you want to discuss. If I'm missing one that can not be missed - let me know maybe I can squeeze it in.

So add this to your Bloglines and come over whenever you wanna!
